Dee and Melissa
serve in our Kindergarten Sunday School class
at the 11:15 service. Dee has been married to Greg for 15 years
and has three other children; Mark, Kimberly, and Zachary.
Dee ministers to children because she can relate to them and she
loves being goofy. She mainly loves it when a little light bulb
comes on in their heads and they are able to grasp a concept.
If Dee wasn’t an RN she would definitely go into teaching the younger
elementary grades. She also stays because of her daughter Melissa. Dee feels
Melissa has a natural leadership ability and also loves kids. She is Dee’s
constant help in class and Dee knows that this experience is helping Melissa
grow into the woman that God wants her to be. |

Dee’s best memories
are being made each week. She loves seeing the kids she had in class 3 years
ago! Not only is it great to see the faithfulness of the parents
bringing them, but the development of their personalities and beliefs, and
to know she had a small part in that.
Before attending VFA Dee taught Sunday School and Children’s Choir and had
to put on a really big Christmas production, which she’d never done before.
One of her favorite memories of that time is the little
girl who was laughing at her because she told the class that God could hear
you anywhere. The little girl said, "No he can’t! He can’t hear you when the
shower is running!" |

Dee and Melissa have been attending VFA for almost 4 years now
even though their family lives outside of Porterville. Dee and her daughters
participated in Christmas Choir and Easter Choir a couple holidays ago. Dee
was also part of a Women’s Bible Study. Her family also likes to help in the
outreaches to the community, such as adopt
a child. Each one of her family members adopts a child; Dee feels
this is very good training for her own kids.

Dee loves to garden, go
antiquing and go to garage sales, but mainly she loves to do anything that
her kids want to do. They grow up so
fast and personally she thinks her kids are super terrific people.
Dee and her kids have fun together so being with them is #1.
Dee’s favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 31:1-9. |
